Too Easy

Not much of a challenge. Not much fun. Played 4 rounds - all tied games. Maybe ok for 6 to 12yo's (without the date night cards) but there's probably better games for the money. Give this one a miss
Perfect date night game!

This is the perfect game when you don't know what to do! Get some snacks and drinks and play this game! You will laugh and have such a good time guaranteed!
Taboo, Charades, and Pictionary all wrapped in one with a twist
by Aaron
This is one of those games you can pick up and play in a matter of minutes but the fun can last hours. It's definitely a game for older kids(adults) as some of the challenge cards can get pretty challenging (like keep eye contact with your partner during the challenge). It's loads of fun that's never the same (as long as you shuffle well). Another great game from the Exploding Kittens geniuses.
Quirky Fun You've Come to Expect
by Adam P.
We recently got our hands on a new game called "Why Are You Like This?" and it was an absolute blast to play with my wife and two kids! This word-guessing game comes with a hilarious twist that had us all in stitches. The basic premise is simple: you have to get your partner to guess the word on the card. But here's where it gets interesting – you can only use talking, drawing, or gesturing to convey the word. For example, I had to draw my word, but the catch was that every time the pen touched the paper, I had to yell "AHHHHHHHH!" the whole time! It was challenging and ridiculously funny at the same time. The game kept us on our toes and had everyone laughing out loud. The unique challenges added an extra layer of fun and unpredictability, making each round fresh and exciting. It's perfect for family game night and is sure to become a regular in our rotation. We definitely want to play again and can't wait to introduce it to friends. Highly recommended for a fun and memorable time with loved ones!
Fun new game!!

This was a fun combination of Pictionary meets charades! I like how the rules are spelled out on the cards as well. One thing I do wish it had was a level of difficulty assigned to the numbers on the word cards. I like the #1-4 but wish they correlated with difficulty so it was easier for the younger players but harder for adults. Just to help it be more inclusive for all age ranges. Otherwise I like how it was made and very thoughtful.
A Hilarious Party Game That Brings Out the Fun
by Lucas S.
Why Are You Like This? combines the best elements of word guessing games with unexpected twists, offering Party/Family Mode for 4+ players and a cooperative Date Night Mode for 2 players. Players talk, draw, or gesture to get their team to guess secret words before the timer runs out, with each card adding a unique challenge. Perfect for parties, team-building events, and mixed-age game nights, the game's fast-paced, physical nature injects energy and hilarity into any gathering. I highly recommend getting a copy for your next game night.
The perfect party game
by Bryce K.
Super simple and a lot of fun. It's versatile for different play groups which is fantastic for a party game. It's also nice that there's a ton of different words and phrases in the basic set. On top of that the challenges themselves keep it fresh and you can easily avoid how reptitive word guessing games can often become. Another solid hit from Exploding Kittens and definitely recommended for any size play group.
Date Night, Game Night!
by Ray R.
We had an absolute blast with "Why Are You Like This?". The game forces you to gesture, draw or speak your word clues, with absurd limitations while a timer ticks away. We laughed a lot because of the frantic, unpredictable gameplay. The "date night mode" was especially great, making for a perfect couple's night in. It turned a regular evening into a fun, shared experience full of hilarious moments. The gameplay is simple enough to learn within a few minutes but the restrictions in the challenge cards really change up the gameplay. We are going to be bringing this game to our next gatherings with friends and family as it is fun for all ages. Highly recommend for anyone looking to spice up their game nights and enjoy some energetic, laughter-filled fun! Perfect two player game. Easy to set up and fun to play.
We are loving this game!

This game is ridiculously fun! The challenges are good for a wide range of age levels, and it's a non stop laugh fest! It's a combination of talking clues, acting clues and/or drawing clues but each round has a twist! We tweaked the actual version to draw a new challenge card each time instead of each team trying the same challenge and we play longer than the three rounds the rules suggest because it's too short and we want to keep playing! This game will definitely be in our regular game night rotation!
Charades, Pictionary, and Taboo all rolled into one
by Aaron P.
This is another game from the Exploding Kittens geniuses. It's a fast paced game that challenges even the best "gamers" to keep things straight. Playing with my family led to laughter and lots of people shouting "REMEMBER THE RULES!!" But that's the catch there aren't that many rules, you just have to follow the card instructions. My boys "loved" having to keep eye contact with people while they were trying to score points. It's definitely a game that keep everyone involved and great for parties.
Stay Like This

Another solid party game from Exploding Kittens. Replayability is a big factor for this one as there's a multitude of words to guess but then the variety of ways to portray them. It scales perfectly as well with a date night mode for two people which is a plus.
Fun group game
by Heather
I played this game with a group of 3. I wasn't sure how it would work with 3 people but we had no issues. We all enjoyed it, but unfortunately our first play-thru we only drew draw cards. So we didn't get to really explore the other play options. 2nd time though we got a good mix and had a lot more fun. I can't wait to try with a larger group and maybe add some drinks in the mix.
Great and hilarious family game!
by JenniferT
This is a great family game that we all enjoyed playing! It's quick and easy to get started and will soon have everyone laughing. The game brings a fun and unique twist to some familiar gameplay - think you know how to draw scissors? Can you do it without touching the pen with your hands? It can't be that hard to give your teammates clues to guess the word "thirsty," right? But what if you can't make any sounds and have to talk like a muted TV? The secret words and ridiculous restrictions come together for a hilarious combination! And if you're not up for a bloodthirsty battle just yet, the game offers both a competitive option as well as a kinder, gentler collaborative option for smaller groups or those who just want a laugh without any stress. This is another fun and creative game from the Exploding Kittens folks - don't miss out!
A fun interactive take on the word game genre.
by Andrew
This evening my friends and I had an absolute blast paying this game. There was many moments of laughter. All agreed it was worthy of 5-stars. We did a team of 3v3. One of the couples had to seperate since there was three different couples. But it went over great. 6 players felt like the perfect number. Each player got to do one challenge each. We played the best out of 3 full games. Each game had 3 rounds. The rounds were fast-paced and it never felt like it was going on too long. Each team must complete the challenge with their corresponding words. It really brought out the competitive side of everyone, but in a fun way. Even when the team I was on lost, we still had a great time over-all. The challenge cards tell you how much time you have to guess as many words as you can. The ones with 2 minutes were definitely harder, but sometimes that 2 minutes felt so long. On the other side the ones with 30 seconds were easier and felt very quick. Our favorite time seemed to be the 1 minute mark.If you are familiar with EK games, it has a similar vibe to Poetry for Neanderthals in the way the team battles work as well as some of the rules. But this game will get you moving and laughing. There are aspects of sharades and pictionary in this game as well. We did experience some cons, but we felt they were minor. One was the pen and paper pad. The pen stopped working for us by the 4th round. But who doesn't have spare pens laying around their house? As far as the pad... we just felt it would have been better for a dry erase board and marker. Some people struggled to flip the page over in the heat of the moment and use the other side to conserve paper. After 3 games of the Party mode, we did one game of the Date Night/Cooperative mode. It was confusing to most as we switched to that mode, which was meant for two players. Once we got everyone on the same page, they did enjoy. You needed to get 15 words to win. We won with 18. However, the group preferred the competitive team mode instead. I would treat this 2 player/cooperative mode as almost an alternate version of the main game or an expansion pact.
Fast-paced charades-like fun

This fast-paced game takes an exciting twist on a charades-like game, blending a few different familiar mechanics together. Perfect for a lively gathering. Simple rules and quick setup make it an instant hit (opt to follow the instruction video as a group to get started).
A new twist on old classics
by Kendan E.
Charads meets pictonary with a lot of chaos, laughter, and what the heck moments. This game kept us laughing and playing for hours. If you are looking for a game that is outside of the box and different from anything you tried before, look no further you won't regret it.
Easy to play and funny!

This is a great game for couples or parties...everyone gets an equal chance to look and act silly, and there's anticipation for the next challenge. It moves quickly and offers lots of opportunities for creative expression. Think fast and act fast to win!
Fun Quick Party Game
by Aja G.
Why Are You Like This? is like a cross between Taboo and Charades. The timed challenges add an interesting factor, but seem a little short. I played multiple times in Date Mode and after 3 games, our total correct cards still did not add up to the 15 we needed to win one game! I think part of the problem is that there were a lot of drawing challenges but we are both exceptionally bad at drawing. The short games did allow us to play multiple times rather quickly, which would be really good in a party setting as well. This could be a fun game to bring around my family members who loved Taboo, but we may need to extend the timers for drawing challenges because we are all very bad at those.
Silly and fun
by Tal K.
I played date night mode with two friends and it was really silly. We happened to get easier challenge cards so it was a little bit easier than we thought it would be and ended up winning really quickly, but I think it's because of the cards we got. The next time we played the cards were harder and we were cracking up at our failures. Looking forward to playing this with a larger group soon!
Fun times, nice twist on typical charades games
by CheezyLin
Why Are You Like This? (love the name) is a fun guessing game where you try to get your teammate(s) to guess a word by doing traditional acts (drawing, speaking, acting), non-traditionally. It's super fun, and can even be done with only two people (my bf and I did the Date Night version).I only had two issues with this game:1) Some of the words are difficult to do in all categories. For example, drawing "cuddling" or "cute" is really hard, but you're only allowed to skip three cards before your turn is forfeit, so that can be frustrating.2) There are a LOT of draw cards. It seemed like there were more of those than anything else, and while I love drawing, I know not everyone does or is necessarily good at it, so that might be annoying for some. Also, I would have liked to have done more than draw during the first game we played, but with date night mode you only draw three action cards, and even though I shuffled them really well, all three cards were drawing cards! In the end, this is an awesome concept for a game and is probably better in a large group setting, but even so, I think it missed the mark with a couple of things. Hopefully there will be an expansion pack with more of a variety of actions.
