Splendor Strategy Board Game for Ages 10 and up, from Asmodee

Make a name for yourself in the prestigious and lucrative jewelry business of Renaissance Europe in Splendor, the award-winning game of gems! First, collect raw gems to fund the development of mines throughout the world—then acquire the means to transport them, artisans to shape them, and finally a storefront where you can sell your polished jewels. If you produce exactly the right jewelry, a powerful Noble may become your patron, but even then, they won't just hand you victory. The player whose business earns the most prestige wins. Deceptively simple, Splendor involves quick strategic thinking and intense competition! A great game night choice with friends and family. Splendor is for 2-4 children, teens, or adults, ages 10 and older.

Great Game

I discovered this game at a store in Albuquerque, NM. My 18 year old son loves it. He is a big video gamer, so I was excited to find something else that he enjoyed. It can be played with 2-4 people. I've played it with 3-4. It was easy to learn, and fun to play. Great game for family game night, if you have teenagers. I'm sure upper elementary kids would also enjoy it.

Product is great. I just wanted some better clarity on time-line. When I purchased it there was an assumption that it would come in on Friday and it came on Saturday.
Playtime!

I was first introduced to this game at game night at my son's house. typically, we are playing things like, Scythe, Catan, mission to Mars, etc. This game was a nice switch from the heavy plotting and planning games. Easy to pick up and play without brain strain. lol I for one love it.

We have played splendor at least 50 times this year. Our family has all enjoyed it, playable for 8 on up. Even the more game resistant players we have seem to enjoy this one. It's a strategy game for 2-4 players, the pieces are great, and the variation from game to game is as diverse as any card game for awesome replayability. 5/5 stars for splendor!
Awesome game

We went to visit some family and they busted out this game to play. At first it was a bit confusing (like most games seem for my foggy old brain) but once you play a few rounds you are up and rolling. The whole family loved it. So much so that we went home and bought one of our own. Even my teenage -video gaming - son wants to play. And that's saying something these days. Ha

Very fun game. Confusing instructions, but watched YouTube video which helped. Played twice the 1st night with 13 and 15 year old granddaughters. Everyone enjoyed it.
Great game for a small group

This game is great for 2-4 people. It's a great entry into modern board games. The resource chips are nice, heavy plastic instead of cheap cardboard. Just a good experience with family or friends.
Some thoughts.

Good game for 2 to 4 people. Has some strategy. We, and several of our friends and family enjoy it. It takes about the right amount of time to play to keep the interest, but we might make our own rule to go to 19 or 21 points to win since so many cards remain unused and sometimes it seems to end so abruptly right when I am getting close to having enough points to win. (However, by keeping the winning amount at 15 points it keeps the game shorter so I am more inclined to play an additional game or two, so . . . ?) There is competition to in that one may want to keep an eye on the other players color (gems) and points accumulation in order to slow their progress. It's a good game. Hard to figure out how to play by reading the rules. We tried for awhile and then called our daughter who walked us through it.
Would recommend to a friend...in fact, I did!

Bought one for myself and bought another for a friend. The game is a fun strategy type game, but it is simple and easy to teach and play (which is important to me). I was happy with the packaging and condition of the game when it arrived, but one sticker on a single token was missing. This only happened in my box and not the one I bought for my friend. The images and clear and easy to read, instructions are simple. Overall, the game is awesome! I would have given it 5 stars if it were not for the single missing sticker. Well worth the money, although I did buy them on sale.

The picture of the product shown on the site doesn't match with the actual product. It has a new design but I wanted to buy the original design that is shown on the site. But the actual product is a new design version so I returned them.

I can't give a review of the game itself because I was sent a set of Rubbermaid instead of the game. I sent the Rubbermaid back and was told they would send the game as soon as they received it, but that was almost a month ago and they are still claiming they haven't received it. I suspect they're waiting to get the game back that they never sent me. I'm sure it's a fun game, and I'll review it as soon as I get one and can play it.
Knock off version. Do not buy
by Elle
This review isn't the board game's fault but the business making bad knock offs. This game product is trash. Cheap all around. Do not buy! Make sure to purchase a game with a name brand maker.
